Former tennis pro Pat Cash shared his thoughts on Carlos Alcaraz, expressing his admiration for the Spaniard. He marveled at how Alcaraz combines the best traits of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
At just 21, Alcaraz has secured four Grand Slams and has been a dominant force on the Tour for several years. Due to his remarkable accomplishments, he is often compared to Nadal and Federer, and he feels his playing style aligns more with the Swiss, though he has always idolized his compatriot.
The reigning French Open and Wimbledon champion has faced Nadal on the court and even trained with Federer, allowing him to learn from the best.
Commenting on Carlos Alcaraz’s similarities to these legends, Cash told Sky Sports that he has never seen a talent as exceptional as him.
“He hasn’t got a weakness. I almost think he is one of the best … the best player I have ever seen on grass at his best,” Cash said.
The 1987 Wimbledon champion continued:
“He has taken the best of Rafa, the best of Federer and he has been able to adapt that. Without these great players, he wouldn’t have had that, and he admits that. He said without Rafa ‘I wouldn’t be where I am.'”
“He has just taken the best of everything and somehow at the age of 21 has put it all together. I have never seen anything like that,” he added.
