Packers Fans Reeling: Twitter Erupts Over Denzel Ward Trade Rumors

The Green Bay Packers may need to make a move before the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, November 5. The Packers are 5-2 this season, but they play in a very tough NFC North Division. There is no question that the Detroit Lions, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Chicago Bears could be making moves before then as well.

The Cleveland Browns this season are 1-6. Cleveland could potentially be having a firesale before the NFL trade deadline. One potential name to watch for to get traded is cornerback Denzel Ward.

Green Bay Packers Fans React To Denzel Ward Trade Rumors On Twitter

The Cleveland Browns could be trading some defensive backs this year, but it appears as if Denzel Ward getting moved is a long shot. NFL Talk Sports Twitter page posted on Twitter:

“Update: The Packers are NOT interested in trading for Browns’ CB Denzel Ward. No such report regarding that was made by this account.”

This is very interesting because Myles Garrett’s name has been mentioned over the last two weeks in trade rumors. Here are what Green Bay Packers fans had to say on Twitter about the Denzel Ward rumors:

It would be interesting to see if the Green Bay Packers swung for the fences here. They did during the offseason when they signed running back Josh Jacobs and safety Xavier McKinney in free agency.

Cornerback Position Would Get Addressed

One of the things that general manager Brian Gutekunst failed to address in the offseason was the cornerback position. Luckily, the tandem of Eric Stokes and Jaire Alexander has been working for now. It would not hurt Green Bay to try and make a move for Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward.

However, it would probably cost them a couple of first-round picks and maybe one of the wide receivers on the roster. With the NFL Draft being in Green Bay in 2025, they probably would like to keep their first-round selection. Denzel Ward wouldn’t be a free agent until after the 2027 season.
