The Michigan Wolverines are on a hot streak and the team’s good fortune could extend into the college football transfer portal. One star quarterback has already announced his intention to enter the portal, and Michigan is being floated as a potential landing spot.
The Wolverines already landed five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, flipping the consensus No. 1 ranked player in the 2025 class from the LSU Tigers. Now, Michigan could also be in the market to add a veteran signal-caller.
ESPN’s Max Olson has labeled Michigan as a potential “wild card” to land former USC quarterback Miller Moss. On3.com projects Moss’ NIL value at $246,000, but it would not be a surprise if this number rises given the potential shortage of quarterbacks in the portal.
“Michigan feels like more of a wild card in this recruiting process, because it’s hard to tell what the Wolverines are going to do next with their QB room,” Olson wrote on Monday. “They just made a substantial eight-figure investment in No. 1 overall recruit Bryce Underwood to flip from LSU and be the future of the program.
“… If Michigan makes Moss a priority, it would probably be tough to say no. But keep in mind he has only started 10 games in four years.”

Moss was once one of the more highly touted quarterbacks in the Big Ten heading into the 2024 season. Yet, the Trojans were not pleased with Moss’ performance and benched the quarterback in favor of Jayden Maiava. Moss threw for 2,555 yards, 18 touchdowns and 9 interceptions while completing 64.4% of his passes in nine appearances this season.
