Annika Sorenstam, meanwhile, said that Caitlin Clark’s contributions to raise the profile of women’s sport has been “outstanding”:

“I have been following Caitlin’s career during college and now on the WNBA stage, and what she is doing to bring attention to women’s sports both on and off the court is outstanding. Caitlin Clark is an avid golfer

In an interview with Golf Digest in September 2023, Caitlin Clark said that her golfing journey started at the age of six. Her father introduced her to the sport, and by the time she was eight, she was already playing with a set of plastic clubs..

The 22-year-old never stopped playing golf, even though her main focus was on other sports. As mentioned in the interview, the only reason she didn’t play golf in high school was because it coincided with the soccer season, a sport she alternated with basketball. She didn’t give up golf during his college years either, despite becoming a college basketball superstar. In fact, golf became her favourite off-season activity.

While Clark doesn’t currently maintain a golf handicap, she reports scoring in the low 80s. Her strength in the game is chipping, and her go-to club is a 3-hybrid.Clark’s sporting idol is none other than Stephen Curry, the renowned basketball star and amateur golfer from the NBA’s Golden State Warriors.
