Boris Becker reacted to LeBron James and his son Bronny making NBA history by becoming the first father-son duo to play together on the same team. They represented the Los Angeles Lakers in a pre-season game against the Phoenix Suns.

Earlier this year in June, when Bronny was drafted by the Lakers, Becker expressed his excitement, calling the father-son pairing an “insane partnership.” The six-time Grand Slam champion has followed their journey and shared his enthusiasm again when they made history on the court together.

Becker took to Instagram to reshare a post by Bleacher Report that highlighted the duo’s monumental moment and wrote:

“Father & son first time together on the floor…”

On October 4, Bronny James made his debut for the Lakers in a preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, his father LeBron did not play in that match.

On October 6, against the Suns, coincidentally on Bronny’s 20th birthday, a historic moment prevailed. Bronny and his father, LeBron—NBA’s all-time leading scorer—became the first father-son duo to play in any type of NBA game.

Reacting to the historic moment, LeBron wrote on X following the match:

“WOW THAT WAS SURREAL”

Speaking to reporters later, he said (via BBC Sport):

“We came out of a timeout and we kind of stood next to each other. I kind of looked at him…. It was like being in The Matrix or something. It just didn’t feel real. But it was great to have those moments.”

LeBron scored 19 points and made four assists. Bronny, who joined the Lakers as a second-round draft pick from USC, played for 13 minutes but didn’t score. The game ended 118-114 in favor of the Suns, with the regular season set to begin on October 22.
